We provide tuition in bespoke pattern construction on a One to One basis or as a group course. Here you will learn how to take personal measurements, record them on the Measurements Chart and construct basic block patterns to fit individual figures. You will construct patterns and learn where to place each line for seams, darts, pockets, ruffles and other design details, giving you the skills necessary to know how each individual element of your garment can be used to enhance the body.

HOW WILL I BENEFIT?
Pattern cutting skills give you the freedom to construct, and create any design that you have imagined, and lifts the limitations of ready made sewing patterns. Have you ever struggled with getting a commercial pattern to fit you well or weren’t sure where changes need to be made? This course will answer all of those questions and more.
PATTERN CUTTING IS TOO CONFUSING FOR ME!
We simply do not believe this statement. The method and the training style we use for pattern cutting is simple to understand and can be used by a beginner. We assure you that once you complete one of our courses, you will enjoy making your own patterns.

Learning in a One to One setting is so much more rapid and effective because sessions are precisely customized to your individual needs and targets in a way that cannot consistently happen in groups. Suitable for intermediate and advanced sewers.
Drafting made to measure trouser patternThis course is suitable for you if you can cut and prepare a muslin ready to be fitted. Prepping muslin will be part of your home play.
We will have two fitting sessions. If adjustments are required, those will be made and transferred to your pattern. You will have a beautifully fitted trouser pattern ready to be sewn.

TROUSER PATTER CUTTING AND FITTING COURSE:
Suitable for beginner sewers.
This course narrows in on making a specific corduroy trouser style. See images below. You will learn how to draft a trouser pattern of that style for your measurements.
We will have a muslin making session and two fitting sessions. If adjustments are required, those will be made and transferred to your pattern. You will have a beautifully fitted trouser pattern ready to be sewn.

WHAT IS YOUR TIMETABLE?
Timetables for One to One lessons can be tailored to your availability including weekends and evenings. Group courses have a set schedule.
DO YOU OFFER TRIAL LESSONS?
Yes, our trial lessons in pattern cutting teach you the skills in measuring a person, recording the measurements on the Measurement Chart and building your first pattern. Trial lessons are 2 hours long for a nominal fee of £10. If you are interested in attending one of these lessons then please get in touch. This will allow ample opportunity to see if our tuition style is what you’re looking for.

A 48 hour notice is required to cancel or change your session, otherwise the full session fee will be charged.
